Restored 40s Wwii Parachute Silk Historical Wedding Dress In Warm Candlelight Ivory White
A gorgeous piece of history that has been lovingly restored to be wearable for someone's special day. This gown is made from silk and nylon and created from a parachute used during World War 2. The lace details of florals is done with what appears to be handmade bobbin lace and the dress was also handmade for the bride. Condition: This gown was very badly discolored when she was discovered, but after many washes and brightening treatments she looks almost good as new! There are a few small areas of light discoloration and I feel I have taken it as far as I can, a dry cleaning may remove additional discoloring if desired. Please see the pictures included to see a closer look. There are few small tears in the nylon netting but these can also be mended if desired. Buttons are in tact but show light signs of discoloration, I left them in place to keep as much of it original as possible but those can easily be replaced if desired.
