Through the magic of the internet, I have discovered that this is a WWII Aviator Suit. These where worn by naval aviators before the flight jacket became popular. After the flight jacket was developed these became pretty obsolete. Aviators where allowed to wear them but most chose not to. That is why they are so hard to find. In good condition, this jacket has sold for over $400. I am only charging $100, as the condition is good, but needs work. .
There is some damage in the front, sleeves and the edges need to be mended. Some parts of the lining also needs mending. I will mend the lower edge and lining flaws Faded label inside pocket reads: "Tailored by S. W. Rice, Uniforms of quality. Date 4-27-45. Name is hard to read, but could be "Baumarten", and a large "17" is stamped on it. Buttons were all there, before I took it to the cleaners, and now a pocket button is missing, so I am hunting it down as I type...
