40s Art Deco "starfish" Wide Tie by Hollyvogue Made In California, and Sold At The Broadway, In L. A., Pasadena, and Hollywood
To me, its more of a "Starburst" than a "Starfish", but that's just me. A sturdy satin tie from the 1940's, the tie is stitched at the bottom, rather than hemmed. As you can see there is a slight discoloring, which may be a water mark, but it is barely detectable, in photos or in real life. Color is a warm brown, with gold-yellow...see real color in close up...for some reason the true color of the gold parts are lost in the other photos....
This tie is 49 inches long, and 3 and 3/4 inches wide at the widest. remember, ties were worn very short back then....many inches above the belt line. Just tie it shorter, and pin the remainder in place, and no one will know!
