40s Art Deco Black Twill Cotton Bolero Jacket with White Collar That Has Embroidered Floral Motif with Rhinestones Below Elbow Sleeves
There never was a label or any identifying marks on this large bolero, which is why I never tried to sell it, before now. But the tiny triangular flat "shoulder pads" give it away as being authentic, As we know, larger and rounder shoulder pads came later. The jacket does not really hang well without some padding, so I am including larger , modern pads that are pinned in and were used to photograph the jacket, but for authenticity, I am sending along the original small triangular ones. See photo of the 2 sets. This is a beautiful way to spruce up any "little black dress", and it looks great over a cami with jeans, too. I am sure you can find good use for it. There is no closure, but you could use a brooch, or add a hook and eye.
The only flaw I see is a small set of brown spots on the back of the white collar. This part of the collar does not show, when worn. I also included a shot of the inside back collar to show there is a slight yellowing, but again, this won't show when worn, and it may come out with a cleaning. It has been so long since this has been worn or cleaned, that I can't remember if I tried spot treatment. No holes, wear, snags, stains, etc., other that what is shown.
The body is a textured black cotton. Sleeves are just below the elbow. Think how elegant this will be with long black or white gloves...or even 3/4 gloves!!! Or take it clubbing over a strappy top!
