40s 50s Dolly Madison Travel Case Peekskill, Ny Red Silk Satin Lining Matching Waterproof Make Up Case4 Pockets Ribbon Ties
A wonderful overnight bag for sleep overs or the college bound. This vintage DOLLY MADISON travel case has gorgeous and clean red satin lining. It comes with a matching metal zip water-proof makeup bag ( the bag has a slight exterior stain on one side, but the inside is very clean). There are 4 additional pockets for holding smaller items. ...two of the top pockets have lost some of their elastic stretch, but could be pinned, for more security. Inside only one or two small darker stains...nothing very noticeable. There are two ribbons to tie clothing down, but both have been tied and cut, when knots could not be loosened. They still function, but I suggest tying in a bow, not a knot!
The exterior has 2 flaws, a feint "Purses" written near the handle, and some broken stitches. See close-ups. I tried a magic eraser, and several cleaning products to get rid of the writing, but only got so far. Maybe you have better cleaning products, or more elbow grease than I do. You could always add a name tag, if nothing else works. As far as the broken stitching, I have tried to pry loose the areas where the stitches have broken, but cannot budge the material used to edge the case. I think it is glued AND stitched and will not budge! So that is a good thing! Opens and closes easily. No key.
