Tags identify these as a size Small, however please refer to the exact measurements to determine if this will fit you as sizing has changed over the years.
For the Nightgown:
Shoulder to shoulder ~~~ 14 inches
Bust ~~~ 36 inches
Arm hole opening ~~~ 20 inches
Sleeves ~~~ 6 inches
Waist ~~~ 42 inches
Full length ~~~ 55 inches
Side slits ~~~ 16 inches
Hemline width ~~~ 54 inches
For the Robe:
Shoulder to shoulder ~~~ 16 inches
Bust ~~~ Wrap style
Arm hole opening ~~~ 19 inches
Waist ~~~ wrap style
Full length ~~~ 56 inches
Hemline width ~~~ 70 inches
Full length, as you can see in the photos, both are embellished with wide lace accents. Lace also trims the tops of the square front pockets on the wrap style robe. There is a removable self belt.
Empire-style, the bodice of the nightgown has floral embroidery on top, above the sheer lace. Cap sleeves are also trimmed with lace. The gown is finished with a 16 inch curved side slit on both side and a narrow row of lace at the hem.
Both pieces are simply lovely and in Pristine Never Worn Vintage condition (worn only briefly for this photo session). Any bride, or woman who wants to feel like a bride, would love to wear this set.
The well-known Shadowline attention to detail is apparent everywhere in the design, trim and construction of these beautiful garments.
In these photos I show views of the robe untied worn over the gown and the gown by itself.
This set can be laundered and tumbled dry. However since the original paper hang tags are attached, I have not done that.
Shadowline was a lingerie company, located in Morganton, North Carolina. It was founded in 1946 by Sherrod Salsbury, Jr. The company had the reputation of producing lingerie of very high quality.
This was an original Salesroom sample, meant to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would come to see what was available to order. The salesroom is where they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.
This set comes to you from a pet-free, smoke-free home.
