16. 5 Yards Lace Original Store Roll 1 Inch Wide Afc Beige Sheer Floral Scallop Edge Polyester Continuous Piece Lovely Vtg Accent Lace
Made by American Fabrics Company 16 and 1/2 uncut yards remain on the original plastic roll from the fabric store. At 1 inch wide this beige sheer lace is polyester. Featuring a pretty bow design and scalloped edges it is an uncut continuous piece of New Old Stock. This lovely trim is perfect for trimming pillows clothing and a wide variety of home décor items. Photos are shown of the front and backs sides of this trim along with a quarter to show the relative size.
Made in the USA by the American Fabrics Company as shown by the RN 21259 on the paper tag it was made at the Bridgeport Connecticut factory. By 1959 AFC employed over 500 workers to manufacture in 300, 000 square feet of space. It produced 25% of the United States Cluny Lace on over 300 looms. AFC made lace and fabrics in Bridgeport from 1909 until 1992. After a prolonged strike AFC moved all operations to the Southern US. The Bridgeport buildings became a haven for the artistic community.
This lace has never been used and is in Mint Vintage Condition ready to be a superb accent for you however you choose to use it. Although there were originally 36 yards on this roll 16 and 1/2 of those remain.
As you can see the original price was just $.25 a yard back in the decade when this was made.
There are no faded areas snags odors or issues of any kind.
I unrolled it completely to check the entire piece for quality to get the length for this listing and then rolled it again onto the plastic holder.
