30s Forest Green Silk Velvet Gown Rhinestone Cuffs
This is a just stunning rich forest green late 30s early 40s silk velvet gown. The gown has a draped cowl neck with a unique fabric covered weight to control the cowl. The sleeves are slightly puffed with smocked gathers at the shoulder. The sleeves are Ā¾ length with the most spectacular rhinestone encrusted cuffs. There are at least a dozen rows of sewn-on prong set rhinestones on each cuff. The silhouette of the gown is simple: the gown is fitted at the waist with a seam, the skirt is bias cut, hugging the hips, falling loosely, swishing around the legs. The gown falls to the floor. The gown has a small side placket that fastens with snaps and a hook and eye in the center.
Condition:
The gown is in fantastic condition with no flaws to note. The only thing to mention is that the rhinestones were only sewn on horizontally so they can flip over. They do all have a vertical channel to sew down if desired to prevent them from spinning. The gown has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
