The brown background is beautifully translucent, and the white figure is done in rather high relief. Lovely profile!
Her setting is marked "Italy" and "RIL." I don't believe that means "Rest In Love," as that abbreviation seems to be more recent. It may be a maker's mark.
The frame is unmarked to content but tests at 14K gold. There's a delicate little rope twist of gold running around the side.
