30s/40s Berry Purple Silk Velvet Gown Silk Roses Corsage

This is a lovely rich purple velvet late 30s early 40s evening gown. The gown has fun densely gathered puffed short sleeves. The two gathers run down the sides of the sleeves and there is some taffeta sewn in to help hold the shape. The neckline is a modest sweetheart with a gathered bust and a fitted waistline. There are two attached ties at the sides of the waist to cinch it in. There are lovely lighter pink/purple silk velvet roses in a corsage tacked down on the left of the waist. The gown has a loose flowy A-line skirt that falls to the floor. The gown pulls on over the head with a side metal zipper.

Condition:
The dress is in good overall condition with only one thing to note. There was a tear in the left underarm that has been repaired. The repair is hard to see in the underarm and does not affect the wearability of the gown. The dress has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
