100% Wool Michelle Hat Starfire Melange Blend Felt Creamy White Soft Union Made Label 20 and 12 Round Medium by Michelle
From the 1960's this cloche-inspired hat has a Michelle designer label, plus a Union logo verifying it was Made in the USA. It is a lovely creamy white color, made of 100% wool Starfire Melange Blend Felt, according to the fabric label stamped inside. Made to fit a size Medium head, it is 21 and 1/2 inches around inside. Under the inside grosgrain band is a Union Made 841600 Made in USA label.
Wonderfully clean, in a neutral color that can be worn every season of the year, this vintage Michelle hat is ready-to-wear immediately. It is a winner in every way.
As you can see from the photos, one side of the hat has a brim that is straight and the other wider side's brim is turned up.
A 3/4 inch wide grosgrain ribbon and a braided ribbon, with a side bow, are the only accents.
Part of the information stamped inside is the name Henry Dollard New York, however I can't find any information about that. It may have been a local department store.
