This vintage ULTRA brooch is in a leaf shape that seems to be twisting in the breeze. Black enamel in a pattern on silver-tone metal is used for the leaf design and in the center the stem is slightly raised from the body of the leaf and this entire design is three dimensional.
It is signed with a Copyright symbol plus ULTRA logo. This logo was used by the jewelry designer Luigi Guadagno, who was the owner and president of Ultracraft Co. Inc. in Johnston, Rhode Island. He started in the jewelry industry in 1959. Guadagno is most well known for designing and manufacturing crowns for the Miss America and Miss Universe pageants all during the 1980's.
As you can see in the photos that show the back side, this brooch is quite well made from pieces of good quality metal that have been screwed so they are permanently joined together.
In size it is 2 and 3/4 inches long by 1 and 1/2 inches wide at the largest points.
