This knit shirt is an amazing piece of 1970s/80s history! There are so many sports heros pictured on it. Skiing, tennis, basketball, baseball, hockey, boxing, football. Pictures of the different sports figures transferred to the fabric. Retro and cool! The collar is large and fun!
If you are a sports fan or know one this shirt is such a classic! I did some research and figured out Steve Garvey from LA Dodgers, Larry Bird from Boston Celtics, Muhammad Ali, Elvin Hayes are just some of the stars on the shirt!
The material does show some wear...just a little pilling on the fabric. There are no holes or stains. The material is a knit (50 poly 50 cotton)...like a t-shirt material. Brand is J. C. Penny. This shirt came from my elderly neighbor whose son wore it back in the early 1980s to high school. She stored it for many years and now if you want a unique shirt this is for you!
It is a vintage size 18 (which I think is a teen size). My estimation is a women's small and men's extra small. I measured across the front of the shirt for the size:
