I am trying to get these dated, but I will post now, as I think they are so much fun. I love the primitive quality! The base seems to be satin, and they are hand painted. There is a tarnished metal pre-glitter paint in some areas. I have been loath to iron these, because of the strange, raised, glued on "paint". Was there an old glitter-style glue made of mica? Or was this added later? There are 2 separate table runners. They both measure 33' X 18", and I just looked at the edging with a magnifier, and it was done by hand! Could be silk. Are they VERY old, or just crude? I am putting a VERY high price, Just in case, while I wait for an appraisal. If yopu have any ideas, let me know. Thanks.
