90s Halter Top Gown by Maryl Couture Beaded Mermaid Fish Tail Animal Print Low Cut Back Invisible Zipper Designer Sexy by Maryl Couture
A very special, sexy, summery and colorful halter top dress by a well-regarded designer. I found this while thrifting with a girlfriend, back in the 90s. She follows current fashion more than I do, so she found this and told me to buy it, even though I did not recognize the name. 20 years later, it is time to resell.
It was always too small for me, so it has not been worn or seen daylight for the past 24 years. It is in mint condition, and has beautiful beading detail, as a couture gown should! I love the invisible zipper, and the crazy fabric design that mixes animal prints with chains and hot pink floral colors. I see now I did not have the zipper all the way up when I took the picture. It is at the top of the beaded ribbon, when zipped up, and there is a hook and eye at the top.
The fish tail is extremely wide ...five feet! What a great dress to dance the night away in! I am not sure if a size 2 is the same as it was in the nineties, but the waist measures about 26" hips are 38" or less...hard to measure because it may be cut on the bias that lends towards stretching. The length is 62. 5" from top of shoulder, down. Fabric is shiny, like satin. no fiber tag, so it could be a modern polyester, which wears well, and does not have snag issues like the old poly....but could be rayon?
