90s/00s Carolina Herrera Silk Organza Mermaid Ballskirt By Carolina Herrera

THIS is how you do a mermaid skirt. Made by Carolina Herrera for her CH label in the early 2000s, is a perfect marriage of two things Carolina Herrera is so well known for: ball skirts, and mermaid silhouettes. Her deftness in the medium shows: this skirt is so incredibly well made; it's simply impossible to achieve these same results with a cheaper knockoff. The 100% silk organza fabric has flounces that flutter away from the body so effervescently. With its small train, this skirt would be amazing for a unique black tie look. What's wonderful about this piece is that it's timeless and seasonless; it would be just as perfect in summer or winter. It's fully lined in a soft cotton blend, so that the sheerness of the fabric doesn't reveal anything underneath. Made in Spain, closes on the side with a zipper.
