80s Pearl Gray Leather Coat Pleated Sleeves Fox Fur

This pearly grey leather coat from the 80s has wide bands of fluffy silver fox fur trim at the high collar and the sleeve cuffs. Below large shoulder pads and a curved shoulder yoke, the unusual sleeves have lots of tiny pleats—a fabulous treatment that I haven’t seen before on a leather garment! The coat fastens down the front with matching silver-grey leather-covered buttons. There are 2 slit pockets in front, above the horizontal seam encircling the hips. Vertical seaming creates multiple panels that widen gently from bust to hem, giving the coat an overall slight A-line shape. The shoulder pads are quite large, in true 1980s fashion! The coat is fully lined with grey acetate taffeta. It is hard to capture in photos, but the surface of the buttery soft leather has a slight pearlescent sheen to it. This beautifully-made, full-length 80s leather coat with fur trim is labeled a vintage size 2X, and will probably fit best for a modern L to XL with a relatively loose, oversize fit. It is in excellent condition.
