I would probably spray them with shoe protectant ... or leave them as they are; it's only a slight stickiness, really. It has resulted in a couple of tiny rubs on the uppers where they lay against each other in the box.
But none of that is going to show when you wear these stunners. I particularly envision them for something 1940s or 1950s, finishing off a dazzling little suit.
