70s Art Nouveau Revival Bracelet And Attached Ring Set
The late 1960's-1970's Bohemian movement saw an appreciation and revitalization of Secessionist ideas (which overlaps with the Art Nouveau movement). This bracelet and ring set features a Gibson Girl style woman, in Art Nouveau styling, with flowing tendrils, a knowing smile, and downward cast. The bracelet portion is most likely brass with sterling silver or silver plating, and it forms to the hand in a beautiful, ergonomically way (its very comfortable to wear and does not poke you in any way). It closes with a fine chain and antique, spring-style locking closure. The woman is meant to face outward, as if greeting someone who is about to kiss your hand, and the ring is attached with the same, fine chain. The ring, which is meant to be worn at the middle finger, is a miniature of the woman on the bracelet, and is made of sterling silver. It also features an adjustable base band (malleable). I got a second opinion from a well-known Brooklyn jeweler, who confirmed my guess on the metals. This piece is in excellent condition, with light patina, and the only noticeable flaw being a slight awkward bend in the band -please see photographs for full details. Size is extra small, please se measurements below or contact me for more details.
