70s/80s Light Yellow Shirtdress With Dropped Sleeves By The American Shirtdress
The American Shirtdress ... the company name says it all. This is a classic, figure-flattering example whose shoulder pads (removable) date it to the 1980s. A pretty, sunny yellow shade of poly-cotton blend buttons from the waist up. The waist is elasticized but not very stretchy: the skirt is a good bias shape. Guaranteed to carry you through all sorts of situations--just accessorize if you feel like it.
In very good vintage condition. I don't find any stains or tears, but the fabric is a little pilly, and the care tag has faded, which proves it's been worn and washed. I've had it for about ten years and never put it on, having decided I look silly in yellow. Somebody take this girl out!
Measurements are a little difficult in some areas because of shoulder pads and wide sleeves. They're almost dolmans, but there is a seam--what we used to call a dropped seam, if that speaks to you.
