60s Vintage Red and Blue Plaid Pleated Full Skirt

60s Vintage Red and Blue Plaid Pleated Full Skirt

Classic early 1960s plaid pleated skirt in red, navy blue, and gray. The skirt is quite full and it closes with a side metal zipper and a button. This may be a wool blend but I suspect that it is mostly acrylic. It's home sewn and has a quirk. It has one buttonhole on each side of the waistband. I suspect that maybe she was going to make it reversible but either she changed her mind or it didn't work out because the seaming and the placement of the zipper do not allow for reversing it. I stitched the bottom buttonhole closed and put the button securely on top of the closed buttonhole. You can see this in the last photo.

◊ condition: Great! There's the quirky buttonholes as mentioned above and a some very, very light pilling but overall this is in really nice shape with no holes, tears, stains, or other issues. It is clean and ready to wear.

◊ label: None, home sewn and well done despite the weird buttonhole!

◊ approximate size: extra-small/small

Measurements
waist: 25. 5" at rest, gives to 26" fairly readily
hips: best to about 44"
length: 25"
