60s Sleeveless Silk Wiggle Dress Plunge Back Abstract Floral Print Blue Pink Aqua Purple Mrs Maisel Robinsons of California by Robinsons Of California
A gorgeous silk dress, with a very unusual print in the most popular colors! I could never fit into the 26" waist, so I never had the pleasure of wearing it, but I bet it feels heavenly and very sexy when worn. I have been loathe to sell it, as the dress is so darn pretty! The back is interesting, with two large pleats either side of the plastic zipper. The dress is fully lined in a white rayon or acetate fabric. The tag from Robinson's of California was hanging by a thread,
so I secured it. Silk wiggle dresses from the 60's go from $225 and less. Union label, so we know it was made in the USA. A few flaws: one or two very small spots that I have NOT treated...see close up. Also, under each sleeve the fabric is coming away from the seam stitching. This could be carefully hand stitched, or you could use a very thin strip of stitch-witchery and iron it closed, or you could ask a seamstress to enlarge the sleeve openings. the hem at the bottom has an extra 1. 5:" to let down, if needed. The skirt has 8 waist darts, and the bodice has 2. Plastic zipper down center of the back with hook and eye closure at top. I think this would look amazing with matching hat, gloves, purse, etc. perfect for a wedding, Ascot Races ( hahaha!) , Easter, or even afternoon tea...or a cocktail party with long gloves.....a nightclub? Lots of options! Price is based on rarity, condition, and color.
