60s Mod Orange Leather Round Shoulder Bag Crossover Purse Bag Carnaby Street Hand Made Handmade Artisan by Carnaby Street

60s Mod Orange Leather Round Shoulder Bag Crossover Purse Bag Carnaby Street Hand Made Handmade Artisan by Carnaby Street

I bought this at a "jumble sale" when I lived in London, in the late 60s. No labels. It could have been hand made by an artisan, as a lot of crafting went through a revitalization phase in the late 60's. There is a stain inside, but it is not visible on the outside.

No lining. maybe it came out, but I suspect there never was one. One would be easy to make and insert (Paisley?) . This is a true fashion history piece. Imagine how amazing it will look with a Mod suit or minidress, maxi-dress, skirt, etc.

I tried fitting a small and a mid-sized cell phone with no case in it, and the small one fit no problem. The midsize JUST fit. Go by measurements. Brass fittings could be polished, but I like them as they are. A zipper toggle could also be added. Also, if you swap out the one brass ring for a slightly larger one, the end of the strap that has a clip, could be "threaded" through the larger ring, and could be re-clipped to convert as a double strapped hand bag, instead of a shoulder bag.

The purse has been used for a few fashion shows, since I got it, but I rarely took it out. There is a lentil sized scuff on the bottom .

Purse measures 6. 5" across. The handle end to end measures 34. 5" long. The width is 1".
