60s Formal Edgy Avant Garde Black Cage Dress By Lilli Diamond

This is an edgy MOD style. This late 60s "cocoon" or "cage" dress can be worn many ways. Made to be worn sleeveless with cape / cage / trapeze flowing over it. It looks loose outside but the inner dress is a tight sheath! All polyester, the "cape" is sheer and the tight sheath underneath has a slight sheen, like sharkskin. You can keep your arms underneath the trapeze and wear it like a cape. Shown several ways. It certainly is unique and interesting. Made by designer Lilli Diamond (but it was really her husband!). CONDITION: there was a tiny hole in the cape, front right side near seam, that was carefully mended (shown). Also some faint irregularities in the chiffon, which can't be seen unless you hold up to light. If you wear it sleeveless, these flaws disappear but they MAY be noted if you wear it cape style. None showed up in the photos.
