Margaret Smith of Gardiner, Maine founded her handbag company in the 1940s and specialized in top handle bags with cute -- often floral -- prints. This is an excellent example of her work from the 1960s, featuring flowers in greens, whites, yellows, and oranges on a background of navy blue. It is lined in a bright, leafy shade of green.
Condition: Good condition on the exterior, fair on the interior. Still perfectly functional, but there are some flaws to note. The bag is a little warped and the shape is a bit wonky where it should be flat. As a result, it won't stand up straight on its own, and has to lean against something or it falls over.
