60s Black Silk Opera Coat Saks Fifth Avenue Formal Wedding Winter Lining Three Quarter Sleeves Pockets Mod

Well, it was the fabric and Saks fifth Ave label that appealed to me, when I found this, in the 90's , but any time I come across a formal or "opera" coat, I grab it, because they are rare, esp. ones from the 60s. Only the union label and Saks label in this warm formal coat, but I am confident of the date due to the style of collar and cut of the pockets. The lining is thick and synthetic...much like quilt batting, so warm for a night out to the Metropolitan Opera, in the winter. Sleeves are short, but meant to be worn with long gloves. Perfect for a winter formal occasion of any kind. The tailoring is timeless, and will work with any era gown. No closures, but a hook or two can always be added.
