50s Winter Atomic Platter Black and White Wool Hat
Imagine a white wool 1950s swing coat with black Persian Lamb trim...well, here is the matching hat! The fur trim on this white wool hat is fake, as are the pearls and diamonds that adorn the crown, but the designer, Mr. John, put all the elements together in his usually stylish manner to create a versatile hat that can be worn in more than the 2 versions I have photographed here. In excellent condition, this is a superb and rare find, as most of these large 1950's picture hats are in summer materials.
The crown is a deep black, but I have lightened the photos as much as I could to retain detail in the black fake fur areas. The hat has a Mr. John Label sewn inside. one small, light, barely visible smudge can be detected in the white area, just where the fabric turns the corner , if it is flipped up. Otherwise, in excellent condition! No yellow staining!... photo 3 shows the white reflecting a yellow wall, behind it. The hat measures 12 inches across, and the inside head measurement is 21. 25 inches around.
