50s Vintage Embroidered Chiffon And Tulle Formal Dress
This is a truly beautiful vintage 1950's formal gown. It is channeling Princess Belle in beautiful soft yellow sheer chiffon, with layers of tulle over taffeta. It features a strapless boned bodice with a sweetheart neckline and shelf bust. It has a ball gown sweep with 4 layers: a solid taffeta underlayer, 2 sheer stiff netted tulle layers, and a sheer chiffon draped overlay with embroidered flowers. There is a big taffeta 3-dimensional bow in the back that looks like a bustle, it has 2 snaps to detach it from the side to access the full length of the metal back zipper closure. It has so many beautiful and special details!
• It measures: 32" bust (meant to fit tight), 24 1/2" waist, full hips, 13 1/2" long neckline to waist, 53" long neckline to hemline.
• Good Condition with some cosmetic flaws: there is a tear along the edge of the hem in the front of the chiffon overlay as well as some fabric tears/separations scattered throughout the chiffon. There are a few places on the embroidery that have discolored and a grey mark along the hemline of the taffeta underlayer. There is a lot of dress her with so many layers, these flaws do not detract from how beautifully it presents. (See last photos)
