50s Vintage Diamonds and Dots Circle Skirt Shirtwaist with Rhinestone Collar and Moon Glow Buttons

Very pretty and unique mid-1950s dress in a pretty pattern of diamonds and dots rendered in blue and green over a black ground. The The dress has short cuffed sleeves, blue rhinestones adorning the shapely collar, and a fitted bodice that closes with large blue moon glow lucite buttons. The bodice is styled much like a men's waistcoat, the front ends in two points that form real pockets. The construction of this dress is really interesting. The bodice is fully attached in back but it is unattached in front. So it looks like a two-piece but is actually a one-piece. A gap that snaps closed is hidden in the front of the skirt at the waist, it has no zippers. The skirt is a true circle skirt--it can't get any fuller! The fabric feels like a medium weight crisp rayon or rayon cotton blend.
