50s Navy Blue Wool Lettermans Sweater By Jones Knitting Mill
Fantastic vintage mens letterman cardigan from the 1950s, possibly older. Has a large yellow A applique with the word Band in blue on one side and on the other side the name Bill in white. 100% wool. Blue, long sleeves with turned up cuffs, buttons down the front, V neck, two hip pockets. Label Reads: Jonesknit, Jones Kitting Mill, Los Angeles. This is obviously a wounded bird, please see condition below.
Fair to poor vintage condition. This one of those pieces I just could not pass by. As fairly obvious by the photos it has been snacked on by many, many moths. There are holes pretty much all over. There is one dark smudge at a shoulder and the yellow letter looks like it has been stained with the blue from the sweater and the bottom hem needs some restitching. All that said...its a fantastic piece of history with so mch charm and perfect for, say, a hike or doing outdoor chores, or maybe a photo shoot, or for study or pattern or even upcycling. Or if someone is really determined, it could be repaired. Priced accordingly and as is.
