50s Lacquered Music Box Photo Album
This was probably a World War ll souvenir item, showing Mount Juji.
Some of the original black paper pages are separated by glassene tissue pages. This measures 11. 5 inches wide, 8 inches tall, and 2 inches thick. (Ignore blob on roof of thatched hut, it has been removed). There are a few small chips of abalone in the cover composition, but it is basically paint on top of lacquered wood. The large metal knob winds up the music box. The music should stop when the album is closed, but that's not the case. Even when the "trigger" is depressed, the music continues to play.
It has original photos, but I am removing them all, because I bought the album for the photos, which I use in my art work. Some pages will be cut as the photos are glued in.
