50s Green "tubinyl" Pleated Skirt By Koret of California
Stephanie Koret was as much a marketer as a designer, and she and her husband Joe continually came up with names for their garments: Pleetskirt, Girdlslax, Trikskirt to name a few, as well as for the fabrics they developed. They were particularly interested in developing garments with "permanent" pleats, like this skirt, with names like Koratron and Tubinyl - a washable ("tubbable", as it was then known in the trade) nylon acetate blend. This is a "Pair-Off" (Koret's term for separates, which where then still kind of novel) skirt with only hints of its once "permanent" pleats, in the Tubinyl fabric, from the early 1950s. Rough shape but still wearable.

Condition:
Fair vintage condition. The waist hooks are missing, the pleats are mostly gone, and there's a run in the nylon on the rear just below the waist. Overall uneven coloration. Priced accordingly.
