A fantastic mid - century children's book with amazing atomic/mid-century graphics. This book is carried by the International Center for Photography in NYC! The same book in similar condition was available on Amazon for $72, but none are available right now. This is a rare copy, with few flaws. All the pages are in great condition: No tears or folds or marks. The inside cover was written on in pencil, and I have tried to erase the writing, but it is still possible to see it, though feint. See photograph. There are 30 pages, and they all have either photographs, illustrations, or a combination. The story is about a town that overcomes its fear of the unknown ( friendly giants who have recently built a house in their area). If you remember this book from your childhood, you are going to love seeing this again, and it will make a wonderful, collectible gift. If you don't know it, you are in for a treat! No dust jacket. The outside cover has a few marks on the back, nothing worth mentioning, and the top and bottom spine corners are a bit worn. I love the atomic starbursts that appear here and there, making it feel very space age! Book measures 10. 25" x 8. 25" x .25".
