An AMAZING history of the marriage of Vera Allyne and Scott Patterson, from 1936-1938, including elaborate lists of every penny spent for the birth of the baby, every photo taken, every gift received, every anniversary dinner, every gift given and received for birthdays, Xmas, and including swatches of fabric from the trousseau and wedding outfit bought at Whitney's a smart fashion shop on Main and Chippewa St.
There are swatches of fabric from the furniture, contents of her hope chest, two pressed flowers , invites for showers and baby announcements. But my favorite parts are the lists of all the things a young bride needs to do or have in the home.
Just found a bit I did not see before, as it is very hard to read the extremely small handwriting: " 11/2/36 Scott broke my hand in 2 places. To hospital 3-5pm. Hospital bill $31. 00. Had Dr. Simon. Called Mother. Dr. bill and x-rays $75. 00. Went at least twice a week until cast off 12/4/26" !!!!!!!
She lists how the table is set for holidays (color themes), what she gives her husband, where they go on holidays and road trips, newspaper clippings, and so so much more!
No major flaws. pages are in tact, some marks from tape, etc, and normal yellowing of newspaper clippings. Other paper still in excellent condition. Some indentation on a few pages from pressed flower. in the USA. Convo me for other locations.
