A primitive hand made Haley's Comet brooch. Originally, it looks like a gold clasp. and ring was attached for wearing with a chain. Then it appears that a later date pin back ( and maybe the yellow felt? ) was added to turn it into a brooch. The pin is of a silver metal, but the clasp looks like gold. No markings. I love these hand made pieces, as they havemuch more charm ! The sequins and beads that border the design are all very sturdy and secure. No wobbly parts. This is a large creation that a man or woman could proudly wear. The length is 4 inches long and the width is just under 2 inches. A one of a kind! Great gift!
